I was comissioned by my Venture/Rover group (Ventures = scouts for the age range of 14-17, Rovers is 18-23) to make us a Coat of Arms to make badges and insignias out of and such. Started it three months ago, finished it today.
Meanings of things: Heraldric camel - Docility, patience, and perseverance. Also, Andy (one of our Ventures advisors) is in love with camels. And Llamas. And Alpacas. And..you get the idea. Heraldric horse - Readiness for all employments for king and country Rope/reef knot - Readiness and aptitude. The reef knot is also the symbol of the Rover company. Fleur-De-Lis - Purity; light; floral badge of France; represents sixth son as mark of difference. Also, insignia of the Rover company. Cinquefoils(flower on the right flag) - Hope and joy Roman V - Stands for 'Ventures' Roman R - Stands for 'Rovers' Birds with palms - Insignia of the Venture company. Also, harmony. Maple leaf - Symbol of Canada. Annnnd there you have it. The coat of arms for First Southdale Venture and Rover Company. Good times, aisle three. I sleep now? NEVERRRRR. |
